Successful Projects

The paver for network expansion.

The perfect tool for a wide range of tenders and tasks in the municipal sector.

The BOMAG BF 200 mini paver offers everything that characterises its larger counterparts: innovative technology and a high level of operating comfort to ensure a perfect paving result. What’s more: it thrives wherever flexibility is required, space is limited, and speed and precision are essential.

The team at Rundel GmbH from Ostrach in Swabia is also convinced by the capabilities of BOMAG’s smallest paver: “The BF 200 is the perfect tool for many tenders and jobs in the municipal sector. With reduction shoes, even paving widths of 0.4 m are no problem.”

Working in trenches.

Rolf Reisky, Managing Partner of Rundel & Co. GmbH is certain: “What we're working on here today will become an everyday task in the coming years”. Netze-Gesellschaft Südwest mbH is planning to make the Ertingen gas network ‘hydrogen-ready’, which includes a roughly 400-metre-long connecting pipeline running parallel to the B 311 on the western edge of Ertingen through an industrial estate.

Rolf Reisky and the Rundel GmbH team dug the trench several weeks earlier. There is now a new 180-millimetre pipe at a depth of 125 centimetres. Thanks to special welding processes and the use of special PE-HD, it is ideally suited for transporting hydrogen.

Many places in Upper Swabia are tackling such measures to improve and expand the infrastructure. New fibre optic cables for broadband connections or 20-kilovolt lines to photovoltaic facilities are to be laid in almost every village – or additional gas lines to make the grid “hydrogen-ready”. Rolf Reisky, Managing Partner of Rundel & Co. GmbH

The Rundel & Co. team is a real family business: Rolf Reisky's father-in-law, brother-in-law and son are all on the construction site with him. His brother-in-law, Michael Rundel, can even call himself a former state runner-up Champion in Road Construction in Baden-Württemberg.

Rundel & Co. GmbH specialises in sewer and pipeline construction and the design of large outdoor facilities. A BOMAG BF 200 paver has been part of the machine fleet since 2021. And is of course being used again here in Ertingen.

Now that the 14 cm thick base course has been laid, the 4 cm surface course and a 0/11 grain size are next. And since the standard screed width of the BOMAG asphalt paver used is 110 cm, it is equipped with a reduction shoe. Mounted on the right-hand side of the screed, it reduces the paving width by 20 cm to the 90 cm required in this case.

Rolf Reisky on top of the operating platform today. From there, he can easily control the compact paver with just one hand. Thanks to the two-platform concept, he has an excellent view of the hopper, screed, auger and the entire material flow from his operating position.

The paving runs smoothly. The well-coordinated Rundel team progresses metre by metre on this morning in Ertingen.

The BF 200’s augers distribute the material perfectly across the entire screed width and can be controlled and reversed separately. They prevent material segregation even at large paving widths – up to 3.4 m are possible with BOMAG’s smallest asphalt paver. The powerful auger hydraulic drives always have adequate reserves but can still be finely adjusted.

Compared to other, even smaller pavers, the hopper size of the BF 200 is a decisive factor for me. It means we have plenty of material in front of the screed and don’t have to stop and reload all the time. That saves time and minimises risks. Because with every stop, there's a risk of creating a ripple in the carriageway. Rolf Reisky, Managing Partner of Rundel & Co. GmbH

Asphalt paving with innovative technology.

The perfect evenness of the asphalt surface is achieved with optimum weight distribution and the resulting stable running of the BOMAG screed.

As always with BOMAG, the screed plates are made of highly wear-resistant steel. The special manufacturing process ensures maximum precision. When it comes to paving quality, BOMAG leaves nothing to chance.

Maximum performance, maximum versatility in use, and extremely high pre-compaction values – that’s what sets the BF 200 apart. The compact design of BOMAG's mini paver offers enormous advantages, especially in inner city areas and on small and confined construction sites:  here, the paver can fully play to its strengths - when paving lanes up to 3.4 m wide in asphalt, in the milled track, and in track bed asphalting.

The ECOMODE engine and hydraulic management system offer optimum performance with reduced fuel consumption. In inner-city areas, in particular, the lower noise level resulting from the optimised engine power is a particular plus.

The standard paving width of the BF 200 is 1.1 metres. From chain to chain, it even undercuts this dimension. The machine can easily pave in a 1.2 m wide milling trench and also be manoeuvred precisely here. The absolute minimum paving width is just 0.4 metres. In this case, reduction shoes are used on both sides of the screed.

Equipped with reduction shoes and the narrow track chain drive, the small BOMAG paver is ideal for our work. We can pave any material perfectly up to 340 centimetres. And best of all: with the BF 200, I always have good pre-compaction. Rolf Reisky, Managing Partner of Rundel & Co. GmbH

Well-equipped for future tasks.

Behind the paver, another BOMAG machine is in operation:  the BW 100 ACM-5. It’s operated effortlessly by Reisky’s father-in-law.

The light tandem roller is ideally suited for such applications, as well as repairs, maintenance and follow-up work in road construction. The 1.7-ton combination roller brings together the advantages of tandem vibratory rollers (front) and pneumatic tyred rollers (rear) in one machine.

The rolling and kneading effect of the rubber wheels draws bitumen to the surface and achieves maximum sealing of the asphalt layer. And they really come into their own when working with asphalt that is prone to heaving in car park construction, pavements and cycle paths.

Rolf Reisky is confident that with this duo – the small BOMAG paver and the light BOMAG combination roller running behind it – he is perfectly equipped for future tenders and jobs. The next addition to the machine fleet will be a BOMAG cold planer from the 600 series. Then Rundel & Co. GmbH will be able to offer almost all work packages required for cable, pipeline or road construction projects. The small family business is well prepared for the future.
