The BOMAG RS 650-2 can significantly reduce project times and save valuable resources.

BOMAG stabilizers and recyclers have been successfully used on countless construction sites worldwide for over four decades. The machines achieve a very high daily output, yet the operating costs are particularly low. BOMAG’s RS 650-2 boasts a well-thought-out operating concept and a comfortable workplace. But most importantly: the soil stabilizer/recycler offers maximum reliability and flexibility.

The machine can be operated in all climatic zones from -15° to +50° Celsius. All systems and components are designed to withstand these conditions as standard.
Cooling only takes place as needed. Fuel consumption is significantly lower than with standard technology.
The machine can work forwards or backwards when stabilising. Cameras assist with this. The machine operator always has everything in view.

Easy maintenance.

Components such as the central lubrication system, reversible fan and compressed air system ensure exceptionally long maintenance intervals.

Optimum mixing results.

The FLEXMIX technology achieves perfect mixing results both in forward and reverse travel. In addition to high operational flexibility for a wide range of materials, this means top quality and optimised costs. In addition to the standard front and rear flap settings, BOMAG also offers an additional mixing and crushing flap in the rotor hood. This means that the FLEXMIX technology can achieve a perfect mixing result in any site condition – from maximum material throughput to the most homogeneous mixing quality.

The camera system.

Four cameras provide a 360° view around the machine. The machine can optionally be equipped with two additional cameras. This ensures that the operator always has the area in front of the rotor and the current mixing result in view.

Highly manoeuvrable.

BOMAG's large soil stabiliser can be easily manoeuvred on the construction site thanks to four different steering modes (rear-axle, articulated, synchronous and crab steering).

Everything at a glance.

Thanks to its high position and large glasssurfaces, the cabin offers excellent all-round visibility. The view to the left and right working edges is also optimal. The operator's platform can be swivelled 45° in both directions and shifted completely from right to left. This makes manoeuvring safe and simple.

Two rotor variants.

The milling rotor is driven hydrostatically. The engine speed is infinitely variable. In addition to the standard width of 2,400 mm, a rotor with a width of 2,600 mm is optionally available. This ensures even greater surface coverage.

Relaxed sitting, safe working.

The cab is equipped with an air-sprung, individually adjustable ergonomic seat. The ergonomic work position ensures fatigue-free, stress-free and safe working. What’s more: it’s really quiet in the cab.

Operation is very simple.

Every important function can be carried out without the operator having to remove their hand from the control lever. For example, to position the FLEXMIX mixing flaps and set the milling depth. The display shows the driver all the machine functions and settings at a glance. It can also be used to control the injection systems (for water-bitumen suspension, foam bitumen and cement suspension).

Endless power.

The powerful 8-cylinder engines are real powerhouses. The large BOMAG recycler can push a bitumen emulsion tanker of about 40 tons during the mixing process while simultaneously pulling a water tanker of around 30 tons. The hydraulic travel system delivers very impressive torque – regardless of the working or engine speed.

Powerful traction.

The combination of 4 x 4 all-wheel drive, Anti Slip Control (ASC), and non-spin rear axle ensures continuous forward drive on all surfaces.

Quick and easy transport.

The cab can be lowered. With a width of just under three metres, the machine is then only three metres high and therefore fits on any normal low-loader.

The new BOMAG RS 650-2 generation is versatile and can be used for cold recycling as well as for base stabilisation and subsoil improvement measures. When used as a recycler, old and damaged blacktop surfaces, including the base course, are torn up and crushed. New binder is mixed in. Pre-spread lime or cement is mixed in during base stabilisation or soil consolidation. The site can be profiled at the same time with BOMAG’s RS 650-2. Sensors always keep the rear frame in the correct position. Up to eight degrees (left/right) can be compensated. Even working on difficult subgrades and soft material is no problem thanks to all-wheel drive and anti-slip control.

For safe working on slopes, the mixing rotor can be laterally offset over the rim of the tyre on either side. The drive wheels can stay on load-bearing ground. For the first time, a machine is able to mill up to the embankment edge without serious risk. The good visibility over the outer edge of the rotor hood permits precise manoeuvring of the RS 500.

Unique to BOMAG: Three continuously variable flaps on the rotor hood. In addition to the usual configuration options on the market, BOMAG counts on an additional mixing and grinding flap in the rotor cover. Milling material as required strikes the mixing bar and is crushed to the selected target size. Any desired result can be achieved easily and safely through the stepless adjustment of all three flaps. Whether maximum mixing performance or highest quality is required, BOMAG FLEXMIX technology always has the right setting.

Maintenance

Simple maintenance increases productivity.

The central lubrication system which is supplied as standard ensures all components run like clockwork. Special radiators ensure low dust adhesion. Large volume radiators with ample cooling reserves also provide adequate capacity for difficult conditions. Cleaning the radiator is made significantly easier by avoiding “sandwich radiators” and using compressed air in situ supplied by the standard equipment compressor. This ensures high availability and the lowest wear.
